Campground Reviews

This is my attempt to share my experiences at campgrounds that I have visited. When possible, I have hyperlinked the campgrounds website. I have also included the month and year that I visited the particular campground facility, so you will know how current this information is. I hope that you will find this information useful.
Golden Shores
  Location: Long Beach, CA
Camp Sites: 6 - Good sized dirt lots, that are a little unlevel.
Bathrooms: 9 - Nice facilities. Well kept.
  Hookups: Electric (15, 30 & 50 amp), water, & sewer
  Visited: 1/2005
Price: $45.00 per night, pets $1.00 each per night
Comments: This park was pretty nice. The view was not as good as I hoped it
would be. It's on the harbor, but about all you can see is the shipping
docks and cranes. They have free DSL connections in the office.
**WARNING** I went with a group and apparently the owner complained about
my bus to the Wagonmaster. They did not ask me to leave, but they may not be
               very bus friendly.

Oak Springs RV Resort
  Location: Aguanga, CA
Camp Sites: 6 - Good sized dirt lots, that are a little unlevel.
Bathrooms: 7 - Clean, but showers are coin operated.
  Hookups: Electric (15 & 30 amp), water, & sewer
  Visited: 11/2001
Price: $23.00 per night, pets $1.00 each per night
Comments: The parks was very quiet, and peaceful. It's kind of out of
way. I was dissappointed to discover that the showers are coin
operated. No cable TV. You can only pick up one good broadcast
               channel from San Diego.

Pechanga RV Resort
  Location: Temecula, CA
Camp Sites: 10 - Extremely large, with newly planted trees.
Bathrooms: 9 - Very clean, with large showers.
Hookups: Electric (15,30 & 50 amp), water, sewer @ cable TV
  Visited: 4/2001
Comments: I really like this campground. I'm not much of a gambler, but the
$3.95 early bird (3PM - 5PM) buffet was good. Apparently this place
is often windy, so you can't always sit outside your rig and enjoy
the view. There is plenty to do around the local area.

Santee Lakes
  Location: San Diego County, CA
Camp Sites: 9 - Quite large, and plenty of trees.
Bathrooms: 7 - Clean, but similar to public restrooms in a park.
  Hookups: Electric (30 & 50 amp), water & sewer
  Visited: 12/2000
Comments: A nice campground, built around man made lakes. There are some
campgrounds a little ways away from the lakes. Make sure you
ask when you make reservations. The bathrooms are typical, metal
park bathrooms. They are clean, but the sinks aren't made for
               shaving in.

Lake Elsinore West Marina and RV
  Location: Lake Elsinore, CA
Camp Sites: 8 - Nice sized spaces, some with nice view of the lake.
Bathrooms: 8 - Clean and well kept.
Hookups: Electric (30 amp), water, televison & sewer
  Visited: 10/2000
Comments: The people that run this campground are very nice.

Malibu Beach RV Park
  Location: Malibu, CA
Camp Sites: 7 - Some of them were very small. The ones facing the
ocean, were nice (and more expensive).
Bathrooms: 8 - Clean and well kept.
Hookups: Electric (30 amp), water, televison & sewer (not all sites)
  Visited: 8/2000
Comments: This campgrounds sure did pack in the spaces. Some of them
were quite small, and not very level. The spaces facing the
ocean were pretty nice, and priced accordingly.

Grand Canyon National Monument - Trailer Village
Location: Grand Canyon National Monument, AZ
Camp Sites: 6 - Fairly close together, and very few trees.
Restrooms: 7 - Clean and well kept, but you must use the public
showers at the Camper Services facility.
Hookups: Electric (30 amp) & water
  Visited: 1/1999
Comments: These spaces are kind of sparce, but the surrounding scenery
makes up for it. The bathrooms are nice, but don't have any
showers. If you need a shower, you have to use the one at
Camper Services (a short walk). When I was there in mid January,
the whole park was virtually deserted. The deer were everywhere!
